I’m a huge sucker for designer dupe items and I recently found these jeans at Forever 21. They are a spot on dupe for the GRLFRND Karolina Jeans right down to the exact same distressing. If you know anything about GRLFRND denim you know their jeans are pretty pricey. I’m talking over $200 per pair. While I do believe in quality and investing in designer pieces you love, I also believe in finding good quality dupes.
When I first spotted these dupes I was shocked because sometimes you can find similar pieces but not exact. These are EXACT as far as the wash and distressing in the exact same spots so I really wanted to try them on. I went to several stores but could not find them. Then I went online and my normal size 24 was sold out. Luckily they fully restocked them. I was a little bit hesitant on purchasing them though because of the reviews. Some were saying they run really big. Normally this would not be an issue but I wear 24 which is the smallest size so there is no option to size down. I decided to order them anyway and I was pleasantly suprised.

OUTFIT DETAILS & SIZING
For reference, I’m 5’1″ & under 100 lbs. I normally wear the following sizes: Shoes (6), Tops (XS), Jeans (24/00)
They fit in the hips and waist perfectly. I have tried the Karolina designer ones on in store and the fit is identical. The only small difference is the leg opening at the bottom and the length. The designer version is a 26 1/2″ inseam while the dupe ones are about a 30″ inseam. This is an easy fix though especially since the edge is raw. Just measure the bottom and cut 3.5″ off. That is exactly what I did. Now for the leg opening. The leg opening on the dupe jeans is about 14″ (around) while the Karolina designer ones are 12″. Since i don’t have a sewing machine I just took them to Nordstrom and had her take in the leg opening so that it would be 6″. I also had them take in the leg from about mid thigh down since they were slightly wide. Now they are really identical to the designer ones. I will say though if you have a wider leg maybe leave the leg opening as is. I have really skinny legs so that’s why I wanted to take it in more.
