70’s Vibes – Bellbottoms & Platform Shoes

They say God doesn’t make mistakes, but I’m 99.9% sure I was born in the wrong generation. If I could pick any decade that I would go back and visit, it would totally be the 70’s. Every now and again I look at my mom’s high school yearbook from 1977 and I just love their style. The colors, patterns and cuts were way cooler back then.
I’ve always been a huge fan of boho vintage-y looks so anything with 70’s vibes is a favorite for me. We all know that Bell bottoms were probably the most notable trend of the 70’s decade! Lucky for us they are back big time! I’m not talking about the wide leg low rise jeans we wore in the 90’s. I’m talking about legit high-rise jeans with a mega flare on them.

free people does it again...
My jeans are called “Float on Flair” and they are from free People. I first saw them on fellow ATL blogger babe Megan’s Blog (Lush to Blush). They come in so many colors too but i was totally feeling the Army Green color when I saw them in the free people store. They do run TTS so I got my normal size 24 and they fit perfect. I will say that if you’re a short girl like me they will be quite long on you. But thrown on a pair of 70’s style platform shoes and you’re good to go!
You cant really see my shoes when I’m walking but I found them recently online from Forever 21. They may be sold out now but I linked a similar pair at the bottom of the post. I knew I wanted a vintage looking pair of platform sandals and it was a close call between a few different pairs but ultimately I got them because they were also budget-friendly at only $25. They run true-to-size so I got my normal size 6 but they are a tad bit slippery. If you ever have slippery soles you can either score the bottom of you can buy these handy little stickers that stay put and give your soles a nice rubber grip so you don’t bust your A*%!
Last but not least is my top which is a cute little surplice peasant style blouse from Shein. It’s cropped so it pairs well with high-waisted jeans and snaps in front so it doesn’t fly open in front. My hat is a recent buy from Nordstrom and I love that the inside hat a bad that makes it adjustable. I have a very small head so hats never seem to fit but this one stays snug on your head.
