The Perfect Shade of Red

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with the color red. Whether it’s clothing, makeup or even a car ….I’ve never quite been in love with red. People always tell me it looks great on me but I just can’t seem to love it. Then I found this top in Nordstrom the other day and it totally changed the game. The color is called red raspberry and it’s more of a pinkish red so it’s not an in-your-face kind of red. At first I was also unsure of the surplice cut because I have a smaller chest and this cut tends to be too open in the front. In other words I don’t fill it up!

When I got home and tried it on though, it totally worked. It’s snug enough to stay closed in front but also has enough room that even if you are petite with a bigger chest you could still get your normal size. The brand is also Leith which I love because they have XXS for us petite girls! This red top is a winner all around!
I’m also loving cheetah print everything right now. Animal prints can work for any season and in my opinion are a neutral! Pairing cheetah print with a pop of red is a perfect combination for a transitional outfit going into fall. My cheetah print clutch has been a favorite piece for several years. I originally bought it during the 2016 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale but sadly, it sold out. This was such a popular item so I’m surprised Nordstrom hasn’t brought it back yet. I’ve seen the ones by Clare V that are similar but they are also pretty pricey so I created an almost identical one just for you! It’s now available in my ebay store and on my boutique and under $25! My sandals are also cheetah print and have just enough heel to dress up your outfit. They come in black and cheetah print and are 40% off right now too! My denim is of course my favorite brand and style. They are the Topshop Jamie jeans which I have talked about before here. I love the high-waisted cut of these jeans and the fact that they come is different lengths is always a plus since I am only 5’1″. They do run about 2 sizes small and my normal jean size is 24 but I always get 26″x30″ in these. These jeans also come in petite sizes but because you can get shorter lengths anyway I just get the regular. I loved how these black ones paired with my red top too!
