I started shooting pictures with my first DSLR about 10 years ago with a Nikon D5000. It was a cropped body and I used that camera for almost 7 years. When I really started understanding more about photography I switched to a D3200 which was a bit better quality but still cropped. I grew out of that camera really quickly and invested in a full frame Nikon D750 and never looked back. Shooting full frame is a huge difference but well worth the upgrade. However the lens that you shoot with is also going to make or break your shots.

What do I shoot my content with?
This can be a complicated answer but I’ll make it as simple as possible. For video and vlogs I use the Canon G7X which is what most vloggers and youtubers use and I highly recommend this little point and shoot because it’s lightweight and compact and takes amazing high-def videos.
For outfit photos shoot with the Nikon D750 body which is a full frame camera meaning you will get more photo in the frame. When shooting outfit pics I switch back and forth between an 85 mm lens and 50 mm lens. Use the 85mm for upclose shots when you don’t necessarily want to be right in front of the subject. For example if you want to shoot a ring on someone’s finger or a bouquet they are holding without standing right in front of them the 85 mm will get close up for you. A 50mm will do the same but you will have to stand a lot closer to the subject.
For indoor home/lifestyle shots I still use my Nikon D750 but I switch to my 35 mm lens. A 35 mm lens is great for indoor photos because you may not have a ton of space to back up so you will get more in your shot. If you are shooting indoors in a really tight place then will need an even wider angle lens like a 24mm or lower but you will be getting a good amount of distortion although that makes for really cool shots in my opinion. Next lens on my list is a 16-35mm!
I linked all of my exact equipment below also in case you would like to purchase the same gear! If you are just starting out I would purchase a DSLR with only the body because the kit lens that comes with it is not that great. Then purchase one of the lenses I mentioned separately. The 50 mm 1.8 is a great lens that most bloggers use and very budget-friendly too!
Since I upgraded to full frame my Nikon D750 has been my ride or die and I have started shooting several other bloggers in the Atlanta area.
