2024 Summer Reads

- ATLANTA, GA
Now that I’m navigating life as a single mom/woman, I’m finding more time to do the things I love and that includes my love of reading, especially reading outdoors once the weather is nice. This summer is no different than any other. Sunny days on my new balcony are perfect for catching some rays and reading a hot summer love story. This year I only picked three books to read for the summer. one of them was from last year that I didn’t get around to finishing and the other two were random finds from Good Reads.

The beach House
When her gram passes away, Melanie Simpson feels utterly lost. But her grandmother’s will gives her a purpose: an inheritance to buy a crumbling house in Rosemary Bay. Returning to the village where she’d spent summers with gram and walking the beach where they’d had so many fun-filled days brings Melanie comfort as well as hope.
On her first night in her new hometown, Melanie meets local contractor and landowner Josh Claiborne, whose eyes match the dazzling sea….
what I should've Said
On the day of her July wedding, thanks to a letter from a stranger, Norah’s world turns upside down. She runs for the hills of Vermont to start a new life, but what’s waiting for her, between her estranged sister, the townspeople, and bad-boy Bennett Bishop himself, is way more than she bargained for.
my magnolia summer
In New York City winter never seems to loosen its hold and for South Carolina transplant Maggie (born Magnolia after the fairest summer flower) the balmy beach weather of April back home on Sullivan’s Island feels like a distant memory. Until a phone call from her sister, Violet, changes everything.
***I shared this last summer but I never got around to finishing it because my dog ripped the book apart and I didn’t have it on my kindle so this summer I picked up a new copy and I’m planning pick up where I left off. So far I’m about halfway through.
